To bow and to bend we

I feel for the quartet immensely -- it was a horribly nasty day in DC. I don't understand why someone didn't setup a mini band-shell or something, with heaters, etc, so that they could have had a better chance at playing.

I don't think most non-music-related event planners have any clue about that sort of thing, though.

AS, I completely agree with you.

The decision not to play live seems a very sensible one.

But, from this distance, the decision to play a recording and pretend it was live seems less sensible.

From what I understand, they did actually play and that's what the people close to them heard, but what was broadcast was the recording.

What a delimma, though. It isn't really The Done Thing to just play a recording at an event of that magnitude, of course.

Of course, you should hear the ragging Aretha has been getting from all the Armchair Musicians on the 'net for how she sounded. Obviously, you just can't win.
