The whole anniversary year divisible by 50 fetish is starting to set my nerves on edge. They're bartered like collectable trading cards on a school playground "I'll trade you a Wagner 200 and a Verdi 200 for Gesualdo 400."

And there is a lot more to come before 2013 is finished....

But the good news is that the anti-anniversary bandwagon - which started here incidentally - is gathering momentum.

That said, my father, composer Ton-That Tiet is turning 80 this year and I do wish to see some events, concerts taking place - or even people paying attention to his work, not because he is my father, but because I genuinely think his is great music.
