April 3, 2009 - BBC fined £150,000 by media watchdog Ofcom over the Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross fiasco for six "underlying flaws" in the BBC's compliance systems. The flaws include a "lack of clarity" about the role of the show's executive producer who was a senior figure at the management agency that represented Brand, and an "unacceptable conflict of interest" for the line producer seconded from the BBC to Brand's production company.
