New music - New Ireland - New York

Email received - Hi Bob, I'm sending you some information on two concerts of Irish composers works which we're putting on in New York's Carnegie Hall and the Issue Project Room in the hope that you'll post it to your blog. The concert in the Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall takes place on 17 October and the second concert takes place on 26 October. These links take you to the Carnegie Hal concert details, the Issue Project Room event and some background. There's also a video on YouTube previewing the concert which you're more than welcome to embed:

I know that you have quite a large US audience for your blog so perhaps this may be of interest to them? Also, if you have any suggestions as regards other bloggers to contact who may be interested in posting do let me know. It's a big initiative for our centre and one which we hope to continue and build upon as part of an ongoing international promotional programme for Irish composers.

Regards, Jonathan
Jonathan Grimes, General Manager, The Contemporary Music Centre, 19 Fishamble Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 8, Ireland.

Jonathan, it is my pleasure to post news of these exciting events. Please could other music bloggers spread the word about this commendable initiative to bring yet more new music to New York? Irish composer Jane O'Leary featured here back in 2005.
