The Observer article, which is dated October 19, also says:

The impact of his remarks will be amplified by the fact that his 2005 opera Doctor Atomic has its New York premiere at the Metropolitan Opera tomorrow.

In fact Doctor Atomic opened on October 13 at the Met.

The piece was written by Observer journalist Vanessa Thorpe. Her other speciality seems to be the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

And Norman Lebrecht wonders why journalists are a threatened species.
