On the dubious wisdom of crowds


News that BBC Radio 3 has reached its largest audience in three years reminded me of the archive photo seen above. It shows the impressively large audience for the last public execution in Paris in June 1939. I am also reminded of this photo when I see boasts about notably large readership numbers for certain music websites.
