You say Vengerov, I say Schuyler

An email arrived last week from the BBC asking me to publicise a YouTube video of a Radio 3 interview with Maxim Vengerov. In fact the message arrived the very day I quoted Krishnamurti as saying "Must not the mind have the capacity to fathom - not to imitate, not to be shaped". Which left me wondering what the blog equivalent of RTFM is - RTFB perhaps? So no link to Vengerov, which will hurt Radio 3 not at all as a quick check around the classical music blogs confirms that that epistemic closure is alive and well elsewhere. But as an alternative to Vengerov I offer a link that is guaranteed 100% epistemic free - to the Guardian's 4 star review of Abram Wilson's jazz tribute to Philippa Schuyler Adventures in Black and White. The ladies are on a roll right now as this review follows the New York Times' "shimmering, surging, post-Minimalist" praise for Missy Mazzoli's opera Song From the Uproar — The Lives and Deaths of Isabelle Eberhardt. Which is nice as Isabelle and Philippa shared a post here recently.
