Wolfgang Amadeus at his most seductive

After I uploaded the Boult Planets cover a couple of weeks back Christopher Bishop, who was Sir Adrian's recording producer at EMI, emailed me this story.
'I once found a record of Mozart 40th and Eine Kleine, conducted by Boult, with a black lace bra on the cover (above). I showed it to him, and he said (delightfully missing the point) "Good heavens! What's that got to do with the G minor?"'

Wait, so what is the point?

Andrew, I can't speak on behalf of Westminster's art director but perhaps the connection is Eine kleine Nachtmusik - 'A Little Night Music'?

But then try to find the point on some of these other classic Westminster Gold album covers -

Perhaps the point is that there was a 12" square space on which to develop the art of the album sleeve?

Or perhaps the point is there doesn't have to be a point?

Leave it to me to overthink a black bra. :P

I was mostly confused by Christopher Bishop's wording about Boult missing the point; I have seen their covers and they are quite amazing IMO. A lot of them more obviously are just the photographer having a lot of fun. :)
