Stockhausen has his day at BBC Proms
Tomorrow, August 2, is Stockhausen Day at the BBC Proms. The programmes, which include two performances of Gruppen and the world premiere of Klang 5th hour, are wonderful. Whether they will survive the intrusive audience noises and inane continuity announcements (please not Petroc Baloney) that have blighted this year's Proms broadcasts remains to be seen. What will the prommers do without any breaks between movements in Stimmung for their silly applause? Header image is from the 1991 Visions of Japan exhibition at the V & A. I just thought it was rather Stockhausen. Read about Stockhausen in context here.

Perhaps it is the Peace brand that is smoked by all those in the Proms audience who cough so loudly?
