Having read a lo...Compass is an extraordinary book. Having read a lot about creative writing, I am amazed at how everyone in creative writing courses suggests writing really short sentences. Where is the transcendent power of Proust in such brief prose that these "evangelists" makes us believe is the right way to go? Where is the spirituality of a Tolstoy to be found? Of course, creative writing courses will tell us to write short because our attention span has been dramatically reduced, which is a shame. I find myself difficult to focus on lengthy books sometimes and prefer to read them on my PC or tablet so I can multitask at the same time (which is pathetic!) Even worse: when was the last time we listened to a Mahler or Bruckner symphony in its entirety, not as background music (and not a concert)?Konsgaardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13657012346737157878noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8060605.post-51965912229285981212018-05-22T14:47:22.380+01:002018-05-22T14:47:22.380+01:00Quite so John. As the unnamed American soldier in Vietnam famously said, perhaps we'll have to burn it down to save it.JMWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09520926883774598349noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8060605.post-56161848810653739482018-05-22T09:49:40.910+01:002018-05-22T09:49:40.910+01:00More on this post here - https://www.overgrownpath...More on this post here - https://www.overgrownpath.com/2018/05/proof-there-is-life-after-facebook.htmlPliablehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10616598845886342325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8060605.post-11662014547128093292018-05-21T16:59:16.409+01:002018-05-21T16:59:16.409+01:00'Compass' is a superb novel. I read it on holiday and came home with a notebook full of leads to follow up.Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00960396346594892626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8060605.post-82140181466657798092018-05-21T10:03:23.673+01:002018-05-21T10:03:23.673+01:00Is £80 for the top price tickets for Barenboim and...Is £80 for the top price tickets for Barenboim and the West-East Divan Orchestra at Snape on August 13th a record for Aldeburgh?

https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/daniel-barenboim-net-worth/
Pliablehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10616598845886342325noreply@blogger.com
