Several readers have asked why is BBC Radio 3 broadcasting the Tchaikovsky Experience this week?

The answer is prosaic. This week sees the two biggest mutual admiration events in the UK arts calendar. The film industry's BAFTAs, and the rock industry's Brit Awards.
