Only then might those who set their alarms to be awakened hear small nocturnal doses of Britten, Barber, Part, Taverner, Hovhaness, Lou Harrison, Gorecki, early Carter - and a few select others deemed non-enemy combatants to public radio.

Aside from the injury of the Proms balkanization of new music, it is positively criminal that Paul Creston's Symphony No.2 isn't included at the Proms when there's to be ANY American music performed.
